OR SELECT A CRASH COURSE WE DESIGN!! Maybe you are from out-of-town, or just an in-town addict - if so, you may create your own Crash Course. These are seven-hour classes (plus an hour for lunch) and are designed for a variety of skill levels. You may do a 1-Day or 2-Day course any day of the week. Here's how it works: OPTION 1 - $140 - Pick three (3) classes from Intro to Lampworking or Lampwork 101- 105. We will design the class using your choices. (1-Day - Beginning Skill Level) OPTION 2 - $140 - Pick two (2) classes from Lampwork 201-206. We will design the class using your choices. (1-Day - Intermediate Skill Level) To create a 2-Day course, just select two (2) of either Option. buttons. I get a puzzled look many times when I tell people that I love to make buttons. First of all, a button is a fabulous clasp for any necklace or bracelet. A button can be converted into a pendant simply by changing the shank from the back of the button to a loop on the top. I love to work without mandrels and bead release. I grew so much as a lampworker when I put down my mandrel and thought of the other possibilities. HOLLOW BLOWN BEADS

The class will delve into the trick of decorating a thin-walled bead while keeping it from cracking and maintaining the embellishment intact. You'll never make small, heavy beads again. ALSO, here are a couple of Crash Courses we have already designed for the more advanced students: CRASH COURSE 301 - BLOWN BEADS AND EMBELLISHING - $140 Refine your skills in constructing large disc beads and bridging them together to form a hollow bead. Then using a "puffy" mandrel, you will breathe life into the bead as air expands the bead into a lightweight but large bead. The class will delve more deeply into embellishing the thin-walled bead while keeping it from cracking and maintaining the decoration intact. CRASH COURSE 302 - OFF-MANDREL - $140 This off-mandrel class will cover much more than just buttons. We will expand your art of decorating the button, creating beautiful crocuses and making different styles of drop earrings. Imagine what you can come up with when you put down your mandrel and let the glass flow. |
