LAMPWORK 101 – SHAPING AND ENCASING BEADS – $60 Tuesday, 6/22/2010 - 6pm-9pm This class starts where Intro to Lampworking left off. We delve into encasing, twistie construction and bead shapes. The class will expose the new lampworker to more techniques. We will not be able to perfect any of these techniques, that comes with hours and hours of practice. Students will learn the important use of punties, the critical feel of when to pull and when to twist, and twistie control onto a bead. We will this discuss the varied affects of transparent and opaque glass and how to accomplish your desired result. AGENDA 6:00-7:00 Complex Twisties 7:00-8:00 Silver Leaf Stringer & Twistie 8:00-9:00 Ways to use Twisties (earrings, pendants, embellishing) LAMPWORK 104 - SCULPTURAL I – $60 Tuesday, 7/20/2010 - 6pm-9pm Let’s make critters! You will learn how to prepare for sculptural work and more precise stringer control as you create some reptiles, including lizards, snakes and any other slithering things we can think of. AGENDA 6:00-7:00 Sculptural Prep 7:00-8:00 Snake 8:00-9:00 Lizard LAMPWORK 105 – REACTION GLASS – $60 Tuesday, 7/27/2010 - 6pm-9pm You will be playing around with lots of different kinds of glass, raku, lusters, silver glass and make some amazing discoveries. These new techniques can create a "boro" look using soft glass. It will feel like magic when your beads come out of the kiln and you see what you ended up with.
